Your phone may show a carrier or profile name such as Orange France during installation. This is normal and does not mean you bought the wrong plan. Some eSIMs use international network profiles and local roaming partners. Your plan will work in the destination listed on your order once installed correctly and data roaming is enabled.
Calling is available through the eSIMstep app on iPhone and Android. The eSIM itself provides mobile data, while outbound calls are made inside the app over WiFi or mobile data.
This is useful when you need to call hotels, taxis, restaurants, airlines, or local businesses while traveling. Selected plans may include free calling minutes, and you can also buy calling credit inside your account.
Eligible eSIM plans include VPN access. Use it to browse more privately, protect your connection on public WiFi, and access your usual apps while traveling.

When installing your eSIM, your phone may show a different carrier or profile name, such as Orange France, even if you purchased a plan for another destination.
This is normal. eSIM plans can use international carrier profiles and roaming partner networks. The displayed name does not always match the country you selected.
If your eSIM does not connect after installation, contact eSIMstep support before deleting the eSIM from your device.
Your high-speed data allowance is used first. Once it runs out, your connection is NOT cut off. Instead, your speed is reduced to 1 Mbps, which is sufficient for basic tasks like messaging and light browsing.
Top-up is not available for FUP plans. You will need to purchase a new eSIM to restore high-speed data.
Your internet traffic is NOT routed through Hong Kong servers, which would otherwise cause higher latency and slower speeds.
This means lower ping and a faster, more stable connection for video calls, streaming, and real-time apps.
You are assigned a US IP address regardless of your physical location.
This allows you to bypass geographic restrictions and access US-only services such as banking apps, streaming platforms, and region-locked websites from anywhere in the world.
Eligible plans receive free calling minutes based on the plan price.
Due to their digital nature, eSIM profiles are generally non-refundable once delivered or activated.
